Bengali Travel Stories, from Kolkata to the World
With an honours degree in Physics, Shibaji discovered a love for Computer Science and taught himself its subjects. He went on to teach BTech students, building more than 16 years of teaching experience.
At 39, he returned to college for an MTech degree and earned a gold medal on completing the programme. His desire to keep learning then took him online, where he created bestselling courses on platforms including Udemy.
An avid traveller with a love of adventure, he began making YouTube videos at 47.
Shibaji is the creator of Explorer Shibaji, a Bengali-language travel channel that takes viewers on honest, detailed journeys across India and around the world.
He also runs Explorer Shibaji and Swapnodeep Holidays Pvt. Ltd., a travel and tourism company that grew out of the channel’s community.

Pack Light, Pack Wise
Always pack layers for mountain travel. A windproof shell, a fleece, and thermal layers will save you from sudden weather changes in Sikkim or Ladakh.
Acclimatize in High Altitudes
Never rush into high altitudes above 10,000 feet. Spend at least 24 hours at lower nodes (like Gangtok or Joshimath) before crossing Sela Pass or Gnathang Valley.
Respect Local Cultures
Interact with host families at homestays, ask for permission before taking portraits, and sample local foods. Authenticity lies in connections.
